Dominic & Suzanne Fielden, Co-Founders

Over seven years ago Dominic and Suzanne brainstormed how they could create a business from values they were passionate about - food, family, community and ecology. The conclusion was
pizza pie! Pizza was a food that families ate regularly but had a bad reputation for using low quality ingredients with little nutritional value – a perfect food to reinvent.

Suzanne and her husband set to work: finding a chef who could integrate some of the principles of fine dining to create a delicious and nutritious pizza; developing relationships with local organic
farmers; creating a family friendly restaurant design; and forging environmental alliances to allow their operations to be carbon neutral.

The doors of their first restaurant opened in Canmore, Alberta and they received rave reviews for their wholesome pizza from critics and customers. At the same time Suzanne and Dominic launched a series of innovative school programs to support youth in being responsible citizens and entrepreneurs – students learned important life skills including how to grow their own food, reduce their carbon footprint and create delicious and nutritious meals and snacks.

Over the last few years have lots to celebrate they have three crazy wonderful children; two carbon neutral restaurants; a pizza wholesale business which distributes to over 200 health and grocery stores throughout Western Canada; a society which has allowed over 2000 students to participate in their school projects, and they have joined a network of likeminded people supporting the farming and distribution of local organic foods.

Oliver Zulauf, Corporate Executive Chef

Oliver joined Rocky Mountain Flatbread when their doors first opened in Canmore in May 2003. He cares deeply about creating high quality, healthy, accessible food for all. He is also dedicated to using local organic produce, local free range meats an Ocean Wise seafood which you will see throughout our menu and daily seasonal specials. Oliver’s experience is unquestionable. He has worked as a chef in great restaurants throughout Switzerland and Canada. Oliver very much comes from the philosophy that “any good chef can take expensive ingredients and make good food. To make great food that anyone can enjoy a chef needs to be able to take simple, wholesome ingredients and add plenty of passion and creativity.” That is what Oliver does and as a leader he encourages this same spirit and dedication with all who work with him.

Jeffrey Barnett, Non Executive Director

Jeffrey Barnett has 40 years involvement in the Restaurant industry. Here are a few of his broad accomplishments:

• He was the past President of The Restaurant Association & Life Member of The Restaurant Association.
• Inducted into Restaurant Hall of Fame
• Past President of Variety Club of British Columbia
• Founder of Pizza Patio 3rd Pizza operation in Vancouver 1962. By 1982 he had opened 20 locations in
  Canada also outlets in Japan.
• He is the Co- Founder of Elephant & Castle Group Pub Restaurants with locations in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, London, Ottawa, Boston, Philadelphia,Washington DC, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.

Jeffrey provides the Rocky Mountain team with invaluable advice in relation to their growth strategy.

David Fielden, Non-Executive Chairman

David is a Chartered Accountant with considerable commercial experience, largely in the financial sector. His previous posts include that of Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa, of the credit card division of American Express. He was also Managing Director of various leasing companies for 3i, Lloyds Bank, SG Warburg (where he was also a Director) and, until his retirement in 2000, of GE Capital in the UK. In addition to his position as Chairman of Rocky Mountain Flatbread he is also Chairman of four companies in the UK.

David provides the Rocky Mountain team with invaluable wise advise and support in relation to financing and strategy.
